YA Book Club (PDF)
Teens in the 8th grade and up are invited to attend the first meeting of a new book club on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 5:30-6:30. This club is for those looking for something good to read and those who want to talk about what they are reading. This month's book is The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Financing Your College Education (PDF)
Parents and teens are invited to the library on Thursday, January 24, 2012 from 5:50-6:30 to get information on scholarships, grants, loans, work-study, FAFSA, and NC 529 plans from a College Foundation representative.
Be My Anti-Valentine Party
Not feeling the love on Valentine's? The Teen Advisory Board presented a Be My Anti-Valentine Party (PDF) on Tuesday, February 14, 2012. Join us for fun games, free pizza, and plenty of chocolate.
TAB Holiday Party
The Teen Advisory Board is sponsoring its 5th annual Ugly Holiday Sweater Party (PDF) on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 6:00pm. Students in grades 9-12 are invited to come decorate mini-gingerbread houses, play games, and eat pizza.
Cheesy Movie Night
The Teen Advisory Board is having a Cheesy Movie Night (PDF) on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 7:00pm. Teens in grades 9-12 are invited to come enjoy cheesy snacks while watching a movie that’s so bad, it’s good!
"Glee" Party
The Teen Advisory Board will present a “Glee” party (PDF), based on the popular television series, on Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Come dressed as your favorite “Gleek” and enjoy watching the very first episode, making “Cheerio” jewelry, playing Guitar Hero, and more!
Peeps Diorama Contest
The Teen Advisory Board is sponsoring the 3rd Annual "Peeps" Diorama Contest (PDF).
The winners will be chosen 
based on the following guidelines:
Create a diorama depicting a favorite book or scene from literature using those gooey, sugary marshmallow chicks (or rabbits.) Complete an entry form (PDF).

All characters in the scene must be played by Peeps.

Make your diorama using a shoe box or comparably-sized item.

Limit 1 entry per contestant.

Contest open to all ages.

Be sure to fill out an entry form.

All entries must be received at the Southern Pines Library by April 18, 2011.

Entries become the property of the library and may be used for public display.

Winners will receive $25 (1st place); $15 (2nd place); or $10 (3rd place), courtesy of the Friends of the Library.
