Harry Potter Party
"Nobody's ever asked me to a party before, as a friend!" said Luna. The Teen Advisory Board will present a Harry Potter Party (PDF) on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 6:00pm. Bring a friend and dress as your favorite character, play Harry Potter Scene-It and other games, and eat Hogwarts snacks. Open to wizards, witches, warlocks, and muggles in grades 9-12!
Be My Anti-Valentine Party
Not feeling the love on Valentine's? The Teen Advisory Board presented a Be My Anti-Valentine Party (PDF) on Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Old love letters were shredded, and partyers played "pin the tail" on the ex-boyfriend/girlfriend!
3rd Annual Ugly Holiday Sweater Party
The Teen Advisory Board presented the 3rd Annual Ugly Holiday Sweater Party (PDF) for grades 9-12 on December 9, 2009. Party goers wore their tackiest fashions and joined in the reindeer games!
Retro Movie Night
TAB flashbacked to the 80's with the movie "Ghostbusters" (PDF) and free pizza. Those not afraid of ghosts, brought their proton packs on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 from 6pm-8pm.

The Teen Advisory Board is sponsoring the 2nd Annual "Peeps" Diorama Contest (PDF). The winners will be chosen based on the following guidelines:
Create a diorama depicting a favorite book or scene from literature using those gooey, sugary marshmallow chicks (or rabbits.) Complete an entry form (PDF).

All characters in the scene must be played by Peeps.

Make your diorama using a shoe box or comparably-sized item.

Limit 1 entry per contestant.

Contest open to all ages. There will be two categories for judging: Ages 12 & Under and Ages 13 & Over.

Be sure to fill out an entry form.

All entries must be received at the Southern Pines Library by April 9, 2010.

Entries become the property of the library and may be used for public display.

Winner in each age category will receive a $25 prize, courtesy of the Friends of the Library.

13 & over winner: Minnie Turner for King James Bible
