Make Waves @ Your Library!

 

                               First Friday Kickoff
Summer reading will officially kickoff at the First Friday event in downtown Southern Pines on Friday, June 4th. Library staff will be on site to promote Summer Reading and register participants.

                            The Band of Bookies (PDF)
When registering for Summer Reading, serious readers in grades 5-8 can also join the book club. The Band of Bookies will meet 3 times during the summer for fun activities and book discuson. Space is limited to 30 members so pre-registration is encouraged. Children who - in addition to meeting their reading goal - attend 2 of the 3 programs will be awarded a special prize. Club meetings will be held on Thursdays at 11 am on June 24, July 22, and August 12.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 14 @ 5:30pm: Blackbeard the Pirate (PDF)
Aargh, mateys! Meet the most infamous pirate of them all!

SUNDAY, JULY 25 @ 2:30pm
Thi animated movie goes behind the scenes of the high-octane world of competitive penguin surfing!

THURSDAY, AUGUST 5 @ 5:30pm: End of Summer Luau (PDF)
Face-painting, balloon sculptures, and other fun activities!
