NCLive

NC LIVE offers the citizens of North Carolina online access to a diverse collection of electronic resources including complete articles from over 16,000 newspapers, journals, magazines, and encyclopedias, indexing for over 25,000 periodical titles, and access to over 25,000 online print and audio books. Encyclopedia Brittanica and learn a test.com are now available through NCLive.

A to Z Maps Online

AtoZMapsOnline.com is the worlds largest subscription-based database of proprietary, royalty-free world, continent, country, and state maps. Included in the 4,000+ maps are: political maps, physical maps, outline maps, population maps, precipitation maps, climate maps, and other thematic maps. New maps are added to the collection every month.

 

Southern Pines Public Library now has access to Rand McNally Classroom.  The same company who makes your favorite maps now has an educational website to help improve your geography and map skills.  At the Rand McNally Classroom website you'll find maps, games and activities, teaching resources, and geographic reference information. Come on in and explore the world.

 

Contemporary Authors Online
This is an extra database available for Southern Pines Public Library cardholders. It is a literary database which provides complete biographical and bibliographical information and references on more than 120,000 U.S. and international authors. To access this resource, click on the NCLive link, then:

Southern Pines Public Library has recently joined North Carolina Digital Library, a consortium of libraries in North Carolina for digtal media.  NC Digital Library is a product of Overdrive. Southern Pines Public Library along with 19 other libraries across the state are working together to give you access to thousands of digital media. If you are interested in Audio books, E-books, videos or music then NC Digital Library will work for you. The North Carolina Consortium has access to all of the media formats that NC Digital Library provides including: WMA, MP3, WMV, Mobipocket and PDF. Other options include burning to CD. Be aware that the check out period for all items in the North Carolina Digital Library is 7 days.
